Energy Prices (Early August 2015)


Due to competition from other dry freight markets, shipping costs for coal are increasing – iron ore and grain particularly, record scrapping of vessels and low levels of new build.


The extension of capacity restrictions at the UK’s main storage site, Rough, until the end of next year will reduce the availability of gas supplies from storage during the coming winter, potentially supporting prices.
