Energy Prices Update

Electricity

Severe weather warnings during early February have caused an increase in Electricity and Gas Wholesale prices. The Met Office has also predicted that for the remainder of February temperatures will remain below average, this has caused April 12 Electricity prices to rise to around £48.5/MWh.

Gas

A slowdown in LNG deliveries and fear this may continue, has also contributed to a surge in Gas prices. Along with the cold, we have seen an end to the downward trend seeing Summer 12 prices rise to over 63p/th.

There has not been much movement on the Oil market; prices have been fluctuating around $111/barrel.
